hey guys. i got to take the wagon to the track today to see how it would do. it was my first time at the track and i have a lot of room for improvement. but boy was it a blast. my first run of the day putting it in drive was an 18.475, but by the end of the day i managed to get down to a 17.581 manually shifting it at 4500. i know there is more potential in the motor. its just going to take more tuning. here are a few videos.

I am so happy:cheers: and can not get this big smile off my face for you and your family:-D Congrat's That will be a day you will never forget, And thank you for sharing and making me smile with happiness:cheers:

slantscamp, I envy you being able to take your car to the track for the first time. I was hoping to get my Duster to the track this year but it seems I won't finish it this year, it's going to be a long winter! Sounds like you had a blast which is what I think it's all about. Thank's for the post and BTW those are a cool bunch of old Mopars. Kev

Looks like the Slant Six Race at Sac. So, are you totally hooked? You found out you don't need a high dollar 10 sec car to have fun, right?

yeah, you deffinitley dont need a 10 second car to have fun. im going to check my rear gears because they are either 2:54's or 2:76's and i think a gear change would make a huge difference because it is just shifting into third at the traps. and it seemed like everyone was pulling me off the line and then i would start to catch up at the end. but it was still a lot of fun.

3.91's would be fun in that car!

haha yeah, but i still need to be able to drive on the highway about 60 miles to the track.
I hear ya
Believe it or not but I put a cold box under the hood of my 318 barracuda and picked up 4 tenths in the 1/8  A cold box with ice and copper looped fuel lines inside that child my gas before it hit the carb =P~ And there was always a cooler full of ice at the track =P~ It was so cool to hear the person riding with you down the track :-D had to be a family member :happy10:

Looks like you had a great time and that's what it's all about! I run 3.54:1 gears in a 8-3/4 tracloc in my Dart with the /6 and it runs great. Good out of the hole and not bad on the highway.

I envy you too.Gonna be a few years before I can go to the track.Never been before and I can't wait.My wife will have a sh^t,but it's somethin i gotta do.Ya don't need a fast car to have some fun.8)
