Um... incorrect. My '72 Swinger has factory KH brakes and the original 14" steel wheels, and my '67 Dart GT has retrofitted KH brakes and uses the same stock 14" wheels. Guess you're referring to the 13" steelies not fitting with KH disks?
Stupidly enough, all 3 manufacturers made drum brake steel wheels and disc brake steel wheels. You might have disc brake ones on both cars. I for one know that doing a KH style conversion required the disc wheels on a factory drum brake 67 cuda I did. They look pretty much the same but there is a slight difference for caliper clearance.
