Solid Cam For A 360

You are going to have to be careful that you have enough spring height to accomodate the extra lift. If you just want to try an off the shelf grind I'd suggest Mopar's .590 cam. It performs well and will get you in the game at a reasonable cost to see if you want to play at that level.

My Hughes HTL7680AS .630/.630 with 1.6 rockers (.672) was about 3 tenths faster than the .590 (.629) in my car. However fitting that much cam in there is a chore. The .590 was much easier.

Also of note I couldn't use their recommended valve spring as they would float the valves at about 7000 RPM. I had to use a Crane Spring with 150# on the seat and 440# over the nose. You most definetly want to break the cam in with just the outer spring installed.
