What is an original 1967 Dodge Dart GTS 383 4 speed car worth? It needs a total resto but comes with all NOS parts to get the job done. I don`t have any pics but the car is not rusty. What would this car be worth finished? It has govier paperwork and is one of 14 4 speed 383 cars in the 1967 Dart GTS registry.

The market is way down on all of these cars now. In better times if the car was fully and properly restored (and is an all matching numbers car) I would think it would bring something in the upper 20k range. A lot depends on the quality of the restoration as well as things like where, how, and who markets the car. Even the big auction houses are not seeing good sales numbers like they have in the last few years. It`s a buyers market right now.

I think we still need more info to give you a better idea.Does it still have fender tag, buildsheet, matching engine, matching tranny? Does it still have the correct exhaust manifolds, radiator, cross member, and 8 3/4 rear end ? This is a very rare car 1 of 229 built and very hard to find.

The car is dark blue outside and inside. It has its original drivetrain, 383 4 bbl, 4 speed, 8 3/4 rear. It has its original radiator, exhaust manifolds, aircleaner, valve covers, console, inland shifter, wheels and hubcaps. It also comes with nos headlight bezels, nos tail light assemblies, three complete sets of chrome trim, new carpet, headliner, and boxes and boxes of nos parts. It is Galen Govier inspected and verified. The fendertag is there but there is no buildsheet. The car is about 99% complete with no hard to find parts missing. It is a project car that has been in dry storage for almost 15 years. The rear quarters were both replaced, one due to damage and the other due to rust. It does need both outer wheel housings repaired or replaced and if full quarters are available I would replace those as well. Both front floorboards have had small patches and were done correctly. The bottom of one trunk extension should be replaced as well. Other than what I mentioned the rest of the sheetmetal is very nice and has no issues. This is definately as sleeper looking as it gets. I thought a 67 Dart GTS with the original 383 4 barrel, 4 speed combo is as rare as it gets in 67, and maybe all year Darts only to be topped by the later year hemi darts and m code 440 darts. This would be a long term project for me and am wondering if this car is worth the investment once it is finished. I've seen a few of these cars bring nearly 50k when done and done right but of course that was 2-3 years ago. The market has changed and I'm not 100% sure I want to tackle this project. I know for a fact I can finish this car and do it right and probably not spend what it would be worth a a finished car. So what is it worth? I already know its worth only what a person is willing to pay for it, but really, what,s it worth a a nice project car and as a finished car?

I would say even in this economy it is still worth 13K-14K.First off its a 67 383 4 speed car, second its numbers matching with fender tag, third its a very good color combo, fourth its pretty much complete with all the important big block stuff there as well, fifth boxes and boxes of NOS parts.Do not let these Guys tell you its only worth 5K-6K.I still have seen fairly complete fairly rusty 383 cars sell for 7K-10K,just watch ebay.

Sounds like all the goodies are there. I agree with 68383GTS, that car should bring somewhere in the low teens unrestored, granted that everything is truly there.

Trust me, that car if restored properly will bring in the 30's in this market and if the market ever comes back strong that is a high 40's car. Look at the production numbers for 67 GTS cars.

KEY WORDS (needs a total resto)
THOSE ARE EXPENSIVE WORDS.

This one did not sell for $15k:

The reality is, now is the right time to buy almost anything, especially if you plan on keeping it for a while or taking your time to restore it.
20 year cycles, you want to be in the game for the ride back up.

Four years ago I couldn't touch a BB car, 2 years ago I was able to buy one, 1 year ago I could have bought another one in a little worse shape for half of what I paid.

So what is it really worth? Exactly what someone will pay, really.
People still refer to 4 years ago to determine what a car is 'really worth' or could be worth. We all need to get back to reality, which is people are holding on to their money and/or don't have extra cash - extra cash is what drives prices up.

The good news, not only are some great cars at reasonable prices, but all of those hard to find parts are cheaper too!

If it is $15k or less, and you have the cash, do not hesitate.

I'm curious, since 67s do not have the vin on the block, what is the date it was assembled, and what is the date the car was shipped?

That car did not sell on Ebay for 15K but it is an automatic, and no boxes of NOS parts, missing exhaust manifolds, missing correct bucket seats, and it needs inner fenders..I would say he could sell it for $8K and maybe as much as $10K if it ran.It looks pretty solid but I think 15K is too high for that car.
Yes this is the time to Buy 2-4 years ago I saw people selling rusty 383 auto cars for 10K.Now you can buy one alot cheaper.
I also realize if you look hard enough you can probably find a car like the one listed here on Ebay for 6K.There are alot of people hurting right now.

I agree 100% - but don't forget is has the rare 67 Dart rear stripe, lol.

Don't worry about what others think it is worth. If you find a price that you and the seller can agree on then that will be what it is worth that day. Rare cars are still bringing good money but less than they were. If the economy recovers then you will see prices come up. If you see the economy tumble further you will see the prices fall further.

I personaly think we haven't hit the bottom yet. Too many people loosing jobs daily and having to sell stuff just to make house payments.
