ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

Your sure cornering the 4 door market:-s

Yeah megajoltman,
I really don't know what to make of that. I had a 65 4 door Dart in High School (75 - 79) that I despised & was very embarassed to drive. (Mom's hand me down when she got her 71 Nova.) You know with the peeps at school I was 1 notch up from a Rambler! (I like those now too!)
What started the new wave of Dart for our family was the boy had a great little car, Mercury whatever, their version of Escort Wagon. He never wanted to work on cars, "Only want to know where to put gas in and where's my keys/! He wrecked it, high speed wet curve. I made him do public transport, friends, whatever except drive 1 of our cars! He finally saved enough for me to get him a salvage Blazer s-10 (his Idea & hardly any funds). Broke down on way home. $1100.00 Drove for 10 months, rust repaired, paint detail, not bad!
10 MONTHS + 1 DAY, The "spider" injector started going again. Not wanting to spend 1K again, SOLD! for 2k!!!
The next car you get is going to be dependable, I can't keep paying to fix your rides!!!!
Later.......Hey Dad.....Did ya see the Dart in town for sale?
BING! IDEA LIGHT! AHH HAH MOMENT!!!! The most dependable car I ever owned and He's interested in a car on his own?!?!???
NO WHAT DART??????
The one in town on the main drag are you old and blind??
Awl son thats probibly a charger or something too rich for your blood. I'm pretty sure it was a 60 something cornet.
You are old and blind there's 2 of em, 1 Dart, ! Cornet!!!!
I saw copper Cornet, Dart was hiding between cars....
Dad, I stopped and it said $2200.00 on it.....
GET YOUR MONEY AND CELL PHONE AND LETS GO NOW!!!!!
1 week later I come home from work, garage open, son doing his own oil change, plugs, wires, etc, with the service manual I bought him the day afte he got his car!......................................6 months later I cash in a 401 and happened to see my 64 on Ebaby for $1450.00 and no one bidding!!! It was beautiful and at a Dodge dealer GA! SOLD!!!to me for 2k after last 5 min bidding war! Shipped home sight unseen for $500. Leaking big rust holes along back windshield but looked great!! LOVE at first sight and never looked back, driven daily going on it's 3rd winter & winnin shows.
Lay off and bankrupt (banks took Cummuns and wifes car, RV etc)
Led us to Ebaby again and "Bride of Frankenstein" was driven home from Louisville KY to Aurora, IN. $2K. Lots of work constantly sence then Dec 28, 08.
Now there's Fern, $200.00 + barter. We needed extra ride due to "BOF" (but had very little money and none to spare) always breaking down & hard to live with only 1 working ride (son moved out with his 69 & still drives daily with no car payment or repairs!)

4 Doors, yep! They are usually in pretty good shape or better. They are usually unmolested due to no one wanting to race them and "not cool"
Whatever,.....................They are cheap, dependable once dailed in, very cool, not hardly any around (try buying glass or gaskets for a 4 door) And every one seems to love them where ever we go! (sometimes not good! LOL!!)
Sorry so long but thats what led to the 4 door wave at my house. It's just weird back in the day the car most hated. In 78 I liked my 72 charger!!
But now we have:
Early A = 64, "golden aniversary" last year push button tranny, 1st year 273 V-8 in compact dart.
Mid A = 67 was the first year for new body style. Don't ever get one 67 4 door parts = impossible to find!!!!
Late A = Not much to say, but I hope I get to park the 64 this winter, she deserves a "no snow" winter!!
Like the 4 doors, but I WANT A 2 DOOR!!!! oh well, still love em!:love7:

Hope I didn't bore you with the 4 door toy story!:toothy10:
Have a great day megajoltman!
