ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

Is that a scorch mark above the gas cap? You only check if the tank is full that way once.
Get some subframe connectors on that quick.

Hey Elfin,
Thanks for reply.
The car had alot of blk soot/tree sap all over. Had more built up around top of cap. Got to looking, filler tube wallered out due to someone spinning caps past stops. Cap was barely hanging on. I thought the cap had been venting and leaking. ALSO: Someone has been trying to fast fix & trace many water leaks and had ran a bead of roofing tar around where the filler tube neck meets the body hole.
I had assumed the leaking gas/fumes had been slowly desolving the esters in the tar and had been collecting those vapors and tree sap along the vapor trail. Most of it washed off and I scrapped a new filler neck from doner yesterday.
Now you have my attention!!!!:read2:
What exactly do you mean when you say"You only check if the tank is full that way once.
Get some subframe connectors on that quick.[/quote]"
I'm not following on the:
scorch (assume you reffering to black mark above cap)
check if full? Check what?
And MOST importantly, Please tell me something is not going to blow up on Fern due to "SUBFRAME CONNECTORS" ???? Please advise on these so I can fix or replace. I have never had a no vent filler neck, newer 70's style emmissions control, computer, charcol cannister!!! There's alot more in the than on our other 60's style cars!
Is Fern going to blow up if I drive her down to get a muffler & tailpipe put on??
Or are you just pullin' my leg with a yuk yuk?? Please advise, see pics below and Thanks for the reply!!

Oh! went out and noticed! See the body waves 6" before & aft the cap, full top to bottom involved. I think the double tapped whatever caved the front fender!!!! I bet it smeared the cap right outa that filler tube!!!!LOL!!!! That's why it's all beat in and wallered out!!! HAHHAHAHAHH!!!!!!! Must have been snowy that day!!!
