Does anyone have a 7290 pinion yoke I can borrow for a few weeks? I'll pay shipping both ways. I need one to make a tone wheel for a VSS signal to shift my tranny. All the transmission controllers use a 40 pulse per revolution AC signal and the A518 uses a 8000 pulse per mile Hal signal and so far I have found no one that makes a converter. I did find a company that makes a small tone wheel that bolts to the pinion yoke of the GM 10 bolt differential so I'm going to take their design and make one for the MOPAR 7290 yoke. What does a tone wheel look like, I have a new forged yoke but it would cost a lot to ship back and forth from Canada. Are you machining it yourself? If you're not, maybe I could machine it for you using my yoke for fittment. Just a thought. Kev

If aluminum works I could easily make a program and knock a couple of those out on the CNC. Do you think any others do this conversion and might need these? Kev
 
According to the guy I talked to from JTR it needs to be metal since it has to react to a magnet in the pickup to make the pulse. He said their wheel was 3/16" steel. I have access to a machine shop that can make the wheel but don't know what the bolt spacing is for the 7290 yoke. They gave me 1-3/4" X 3-1/4" center to center on the holes in their wheel and its for a GM differential. I wold almost guess that its not the same as a MOPAR 7290 yoke. Why would I be that lucky.....

I'm in the middle of moving my office and have a lot to do for the sled show this week but once it's over I could take some measurements and draw the bolt pattern with dimensions on autocad for your machinist. Kev
 
I might have one in the garage.I could draw it up in 3d cad if that would
help or ship it off if you still need that.

Thanks to both of you. I really don't need a cad drawing just the spacing of the bolt holes. I already have the drawing of the wheel itself. I was going to try and make it smaller but the width of each tooth has to be about 3/8 of an inch in order for it to excite any magnetic field to make AC signals. I have several home cooked designs to try once I get the center cut out and holes drilled to mount on the pinion yoke. The one on the JTR site is cut in half so the pinion yoke doesn't have to be removed to mount it. I'm going to try that too since I don't want to play around with the yoke on mine.
