OldVart you are correct they dump right in the wrong spot. Even though they list them for an a-body. They should be listed as pick-up and possibly van headers.
You know the picture listed is for illustration purposes only, right? The only experience I had with Hedman shorties was on a BBC '69 Camaro with A/C and they fit excellent. The only foot note to these headers is they do require a mini-starter, but the headers and a late model magnum starter is still a lot cheaper than $500-600 for a set of 340 manifolds and they probably flow a lot better. Have you or a friend actually bought these headers and experienced the problem you are mentioning or are you just looking at the picture and making an assumption?
