Small block water pumps

Duke69
I have a 340 in my 69 B-Cuda. The water pump I have on it is the 69 style "cast iron" type with the outlet on the diver side. It is a Miloden #16251. It is a hi volume pump. It has the large impeller shaft and bearings. It is said to give 30% more in coolant flow if used with a hi flow t-stat.

Timming marks on 69 and older LA engines Are on the pass side, and they are not on the housing, they are a little tab that is bolted on the water pump. They read from -10* to +10*. I have a bunch of these tabs, if you need one. You can pick up timming covers at any swap meet real resonable, I seen some last weekend at a swap for $20.00.

I am swapping my 69 to an alumiium rad and havn't been able to find an upper rad hose with the outlet on the rads pass side, do you know of any P/Ns that would fit this. I have a "Northen Radiator", they make nice alumimum Rads.

I would think twice about those fancy looking flex rad hoses, I have heard of them "blowing off" at the wrong time, like when you are under the hood tinkering, Be Carefull of those. stop and think, a 1 3/4 in hose on a 1 1/2 in outlet,???. Not me.

When I changed from 318 to 340 I wanted to keep the 69 and older water pump, so I didn't have to change all my pulleys. The Miloden pumps hold up real well, I have one on my 67 also.
