Dodge To Be Dropped

WTF is a tradedor?

Even if that were true, where was your Dodge truck made? Hint: Not in the US.

There's this jackass on my street with a bunch of Buy American crap on the back of his Daimler era Dodge truck. Makes me laugh every time I see it.

I want to get a bumper sticker that says, "Check where your junk was built before you shoot your mouth off".

I'll either put it on my Ford that was buit in Kentucky, or my buddy's Mercedes that was built in Alabama.

I think a "tradedor" is Moron for "traitor." Whenever mr. 318 speaks you gotta get out your Moron-to-English dictionary.

You bring up a great point when you talk about the Daimler era "buy American" speeches and those who talk about your profit going overseas...ummmm, am I the only one who sees the conundrum in that? If they're worried about profit going overseas why were they buying the Chrysler brand in that period? What about now that Fiat is the parent company? As has been said these are internationally publically held companies. You can invest in any of them. And that in turns makes your dollar more.
I also like the argument of "we fought the Japs and the Germans in World War II." So what's the beef with the Hyundai? Didn't we go to war for South Korea? In using that argument to not buy Japanese or German couldn't that same argument be used to support Hyundai? Or anything British? Does that now take anything Chrysler off the list of potential buys because of the Italian Facists we fought during WWII? Did it take anything Mopar Performance of Mopar Authentic Restoration off the list during the Daimler era?
I'm not disagreeing with you on your Ford, but for those who use the argument of money going overseas I would like to use Ford as an example. Ever heard of Land Rover and Jaguar? The nightmares of those two companies and the ineffeciency of the plants to build these two and that it was going to cost Ford more money to sell these two nightmares than it was to streamline the plants. Neither of these Ford divisions were profitable. That being said, if neither was profitable where was the money going to come from to streamline the plants? From the profit on the trucks coming out of Kentucky, perhaps?
As for dropping Dodge, as Zach has pointed out: the other thread and the link to Allpar from the restructuring plan shows that's not in the plans. Rumors' had it that the Grand Caravan was going to be dropped up to a day before the announcement, but the plan shows it's sticking around. Rumors' had it that the Hemi was going bye-bye, but low and behold the plan shows the furtherance of the 6.4L for the SRTs, the Charger getting a redesign and the Dodge platforms being the basis for the new performance division. The plan as has been outlined shows the Fiat and Chrysler have been focusing on different aspects of the market and the two coming together let's them focus on all aspects of the market.
This whole thread was started on a rumor with no link to show where the rumor was read, just to start s***.
