Sad to learn I've bitten by another bad deal from a member

Thanks for saying something drp, cause I really didn't remember who I got them from.

Yes, again I should have looked the parts over when I got them. But in my defense they were packed nice and compactly in a box, and I wasn't going to need them for months (or at all as it turns out). There didn't seem to be a reason to unpack them and make my parts storage problem any worse than it already is. So I left them where they were.

As far as cars "not being my thing", I don't think that's the case. (this will sound stupid but...) I was born on Halloween, and all kinds of screwed up things happen to me. "Snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory through no fault of my own" as I put it. I've bought and sold tons of parts and many cars over the years, and never took a lickin till I got here.

The Duster is a prime example. The guy I bought it from lied about the true condition of the car. And while I've gotten and accept the apology about the brakes, "I'm" still the one holding the bag on this. It's actually a double screwup on my part. I estimated the weight (no bathroom scale here) so I didn't have to load the stuff up, and drive it in to town to the "pack & mail" (the only place to ship from) to get a quote. So when I DID take them in to be shipped, the weight was much more than what I thoug. That made the shipping much more than I quoted, which means I lost my *** on this deal.

But did I stop there? Should I have contacted the buyer and say "I screwed up, send me more money"? No, I didn't. I did the RIGHT thing and shipped the parts. I'm a big enough man to admit I screwed up and run with it. I gave him a price. He agreed and paid me. So I shipped the parts anyway, knowing that I was loosing out. Cause that's what men do.

So at this point there is no discussion of the shipping discrepancy with the buyer. I've just lost about $30 on this deal. AND I'm gonna try to find him a drum to match one or the other so he has the SET he paid for.

cause that's what men do. They do what's right. Anything else, they're just a pussy in my book
