302 casting potential?

I took a look at the numbers that ryan J has in that link you posed for 302's and J heads, and it seems like the J heads have a decent amount more flow...but flow is not everything right? or alteast thats what i read...and man, i wish i knew what you were saying about floor and seat and stuff lol...i think im gonna look for some sort of cylinder head walkthrough video or something, since i need to understand all these terms and such

When you see a head pick up 30-40+cfm every .100.... Thats fast moving in relation to the cam lift rate and such, and is everything, granted the port volume isn't gargantuan in relation to the bore/stroke size.


And also know that the shady 302 #'s are right at the edge ratio wise 242/142, if that lopp sides anymore the rpm hp turns to crap
