It wasn't a big order but I got some Summit parts in today. Oil pump, timing set, intermediate shaft, oil pump primer rod,and brass core plug set. My cam and lifters will be here the first week of December. I didn't order pistons/rings or bearings until the machine shop gets back to me on sizes. I am expecting a +.030 bore on the block and a .010/.010 turn on the crank. It sounds like the machinist can do everything including balancing. He is also pretty particular about machining all gasket surfaces to make sure they are flat and true. The more I talk to this guy, the better I feel about my choice. I'm getting excited!
I dropped my 833 off last Wednesday and my radiator off last Thursday. It's done already. It must not have been too bad because the bill was only $80. I talked to the machine shop today and I hope to drop off the block, rods and crank on Monday. I spent some time in the garage tonight with a die grinder and a bristle disc cleaning gasket surfaces on my heads and intake. Things are starting to come together. Mike

Pretty gooey huh! I think I oozed more oil than I burned.LOL Mike

Looking good. I love getting packages. I'm expecting two packages tommorrow. My coilovers from summit and another one with my rear end parts. Just like Christmas. BTW I love the van. Have you ever had anyone try and steal it? Just curious?

YeeHa Toolman!Looks like time for a cleanup.Your gonna be more excited when she,s back in all shiney and such.Make sure to get in there and give it a good cleaning,I could just imagine the mess.Good job!

Thanks guys. Pretty nasty huh? Got a few parts to clean up but not many. The machine shop and the shop that will do my heads will probably clean and blast as needed. I wanted to get the big chunks off. Ya, It's exciting. I'm a little nervous though. I hope I can remember where everything goes. LOL MIke
PS, the last two photos are after I cleaned the block but I sprayed it with Howes Lubricant. (a penetrating oil that I sell) thats why it still looks slippery!

looks like it needed to be gone thru. it is fun getting home and finding a "gift" waiting for. i got one today, a set of roller lifters, should be getting one tomorrow too, a trans controller...

Hey Mike looks like you've got a good start on your winter project. You have any questions ,give me a call . I'm cutting the stock front end off the racecar this winter and welding on a strut front end so I think we'll both be busy. Good Luck with your project. Tom

Lookin good Mike!!! You're in for an exciting time as everything starts coming together, and I'm really happy for you.

I bought myself a Christmas present for the first time since 2004 and it arrived today. A 12.1 mp Canon 1100 IS digital camera!!! (If you've ever looked at my website then you KNOW I sure needed it LMAO) I'm tryin to talk Billy into letting me happily smash the HP 2.3 mp into a zillion pieces but he's not going for it.

Keep us posted on your progress Mike! And don't forget the Dawn soap for those hands. lol

Thanks Tom. I'll have to stop buy with a cold one and see how you're doing.
I'm getting excited. Steve @ Dewar Machine is doing my bottom end and Radar's shop will do my heads. Nothin' fancy, just a rebuild. Mike

Thanks Leanna, You can't have too many Megapixels" LOL They can do some amazing things now days. You are lucky, You are part of everybody's build.
I thought of you and the great job you do when I was in the garage tonight
cleaning parts and saw my valve covers sitting on the shelf. Mike
