This one is not a Vertigate, but a Ram Rod which the Vertigate was the replacement for after Hurst was bought out by Mr. Gasket.

but the ramrod had the reverse lever on the side, and not set back like the vertigate, or V gate 2

how about pics with a bench?

hi, a long shifter has reverse next to main tower. it fits very well in my duster with a bench seat. short throws also. just food for thought.

has any body tried both the RAM rod and the v gate?? what one is better??

I just bought a hurst ram rod, and tha's supposed to go in my 68 valiant with bench seat. Interesting to see some pics.

I know in mine the shifter sits to far back for a bench seat. You would have to modify the seat. Unless your close to 7ft tall.

not to hijack the thread, but what seats are in your car fred and where did you get em from?

Oh I wish I had a four speed!! actually I do its the clutch i dont want to buy! I have a vertigate too.

Can you still buy the rods and mounts new for these shifters?

no, but I might try to make some.

the 1-2, and 3-4 rods are straight, and the reverse has one bend in it.

seems I'll have to make some to get one to work with a bench seat

are they still selling v-gate style shifters for these trannys brand new with rods? or do you have to luck out and find used stuff?

Hurst still makes the v-gate shifter for a B body only, idk if it matters i think it includes everything but not sure, we just did one in my brothers dart(an original hurst ram rod) and he just built his own mounting plate. the shifter new costs about 373 and change the part number is HUR373-8182 since mr. Gasket bought Hurst it looks like a mr. gasket style... bummer

They are Scat/Procar Sportsman seats. I got them from Summit.

thanks fred! car looks good inside!

Hurst does not still make the v gate 2, they sold the last 4 speed off on ebay, and supposedly the last b body install is on ebay now.
