While spending family time in Fargo shopping,I received a text from a buddy I work with telling me that a co-worker on surface got killed at work and another one hurt. I couldn't believe it and was instantly sick to my stomach.
A guy from town and another guy were pounding on the side of a hopper bottom(basically)storage bin to free up some raw ore(potash) that hangs up after it sits(we have been shut down for months).
While pounding on the bins with sledge hammers, the side split open and buried one guy and trapped the other.
I personally know the guy that was hurt and kind of knew the guy that passed away......He was a nice guy that was also a handyman around Esterhazy.
My daughter goes to school with his young children....I could not imagine how terrible this is for them and thier mother.
My heart goes out to the family of my fallen union brother.
I need a drink

Man, this is something that nobody ever wants to hear. Best wishes to his family. That's a shame.

Thats terrible Chris, prayers go out to their families and also to the rest of the co-workers especially you.

Prayers sent to a fallen union brother and his family. Prayers sent to the injured man and his family as well.
This should be a reminder to all of us to work safely even at home.

My condolensces to you and all the bereaved. Although you never want to hear something like this, thanks for sharing.
