I have a Duster with a 318 block and stock manifolds.......I need to build an exhaust, which is no big deal, except finding drop-pipes from the manifolds (you know, a collector pipe, so to speak...though they're not collecting much).

I can buy complete exhausts or build one from scratch, but NONE have manifold hook-ups except for the high end stainless steel kits for 340's.....

I have to do the same thing on my little 273 Cuda too.........

Can you tell me WHO or WHERE ???????????? Need these pipes........

(I know I could probably start with a Y-Pipe and perform miraculous surgery, but I'd rather have a set that's made for the dual application....would save a lot of time)

I would call Tom at Accurate Ltd. He can make you headpipes but he will need the part numbers of the exhaust manifolds to get the clocking of the pipes correct.

Year one has them listed. Complete h pipe, 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" It's in the catalog but I can't find it on the website. My old catalog lists them at $308 although I'm sure it costs more now. Give em' a call. Mike

hmmm, you have reminded me that i have a set of duals with dumps in great shape from my old 318 duster... stock size head pipes for about a foot then 2.5 inch pipe. will need to be cut for shipping but i would sell them cheap... pm me if interested

why not slap a set of 100 dollar headers on the thing and get the dual 2 1/2" kit from summit for a little over 200. or any muffler shop could take care of you.

...........cause $100. headers run too hot for the engine bay, and generally look like crap.........and are a nightmare to install..........much easier to use a downpipe.

I agree; duals off the exhaust make more sense for a street car.

I am LAZY and took my car to the local Midas Muffler in Albany,
Ed did an Awesome job,
all I supplied was the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers and the 1969 Dart chrome tips.

Make sure the passenger side flapper isn't froze shut.

I don't get it.............

How can a "chain" muffler shop find downpipes, but we can't?

Go figure.............. I STILL haven't found any for the Duster manifolds.

Hey tom, call this guy jim at jim's muffler shop here in inverness 352 637 3531,He does all my work for me and is very reasonable and quick,if it runs you can trailer it up to him and he'll hook you up complete duals start around 200$ depending on what you want for mufflers.tell him Curtis (with the waggin) sent ya!!

what is the outlet of the manifold? for flat outlets i just make my own out of 1/2" plate, torch cut them using a gasket for a template, 1/2" or even 3/8 is thick enough that it wont warp when cut, welded or over tightened. if it is the cone type you should be able to just go to a muffler shop and have them make you little stubs with the cone flared and flanges. if you can build the rest of the exhaust this should be no issue. i just buy a few mandrel bends and a couple sticks of pipe and go to town. i havent used an exhaust shop since my first car.

they probably made them.

yep.

if your car has no exhaust now get the car flatbed towed to the muffler shop of your choice,
i would ask the locals who is good, in your area.

Here in the rust belt; exhaust and body parts rot away,
so the exhaust shops get a lot of work on older junk and "Toy cars".

One hundred dollar headers equal lots of leaks, time, and a pain to change plugs.
