I need to know if this is a TRUE FACT........

Don at FBO was telling me yesterday that Holly Jet sizes are SMALLER than Demon Jets............

Example:

Holly Jet that is a 84 would be an 81 in Demon sizing............So if you were going to JET the Demon UP 3 sizes using HOLLY Jets you would need to use an 87 HOLLY JET which would be 6 sizes bigger to get 3???

This would be pretty BOLD to just say without having the information to back it up.................

Can somebody Clarify this?????

Well I just got off the phone with BG Tech Line and I just found out that this information is BS to the hilt..........

Holly and Demon Jets are the same!!

Don lied?!?! go figure LOL! how do you think he sells all those "magically" re-packaged MoPar ECU's? lmao. the three amigo's FBO, BJR, and Shadey Dell, are IMO the biggest BS artists out there. glad you got it sorted out.

Strong words. Whats up with Shady Dell and BJR? I know people who use both services and have had good results with both, along with FBO. Don't they stand behind their work? Or are they repeatedly messin up or just talkin out their hind end?

I've NEVER heard anything bad about Ryan J. at shady dell,if someone knows something please p.m. me with info...BJR,thats a different story..

There are a few that I know of with Ryan. A couple with Ede's (some with current issues they can't quite figure out), another few with some W series. He can do good work but think the pedestal some put him on is a little shaky. I personally don't think he's the best. Good yes, best no.

Ryan didn't tell me the truth about 2-3 years ago when a friend was looking at a set of SB heads he did. I saw the flowsheet and noted the bore size 4.25" or 4.250". I asked him about the bore size and he said it was a mistake, wasn't done using that fixture, then he later stated he only had that size fixture. Everything he had done was indeed, flowed on a big fixture. Not really confidence inspiring and down right deceptive, IMHO.

He blew up on moparts a while back when someone made a joke about flowing using a 4.25" fixture that wasn't even directed at him. Wrote something like, "Oh yeah, I get it!!!" And got his panties in a bunch.

Everybody has a choice of where to send their business and luckily I have the choice of many in SoCal. No need to ship my stuff back east to get work done.

does this mean that Don's book tuning to win is hogwash as well?

No, it has some good points in it.

Biggest thing to understand when tuning an engine is getting the timing correct. Tons of carb idle issues are rooted in ignition timing.

Ryan is one of the better shops, but I agree... There are others. I also believe especially in the higher performance jobs his numbers can be hard to duplicate which is always a red flag for me.
I have seen enough issues with FBOs directions and setups that I wouldnt buy anything from him. I find his attitude right up there with Indy and Huges and I can duplicate, or direct almost anyone to duplicate what he does for hundreds of dollars for under $75. Less if they own a welder.
BJR disappointed me. I knew his info was flawed but I always thought he was a decent guy.

paid Ryan just over $1000 for a set of J-heads. when i got my J heads back from him, they flowed like crazy. i was impressed.. something like 260-270cfm around there. when we put them on the motor... fell flat on its face. the motor was good and ran 12's with pretty much stock J-heads. when Ryan was finished with the heads it went from 12.40's to 13.20's. anyways emails/phone calls he blew me off. when i confronted him about it on MoFarts.. BAM! I got banned lol. Guess i didn't have the proper title under my user name. ;)
