Since he had detailed photos of the step by step of taking the car from zero to hero in 5000 easy steps in the trunk...no, there was no solving his childish rant. But he had the reputation in the area of being a dick. His own reputation preceded him. There were too many guys who looked at his car, liked the work done, saw the photos, took into account what kind of guy he was and called me from there. A few even dropped his name as to the effect of: "Mister Idiot says you're no good, but I saw the car and what it looked liked before you did it, sooo...."
Chalked it up to a learning curve. After that I got to learn to chat with my customers for a quite a while before agreeing to do any work for 'em. If they were gonna be those childish kinda people who thought they could go to show against a 1000 other cars and were guaranteed the trophy for best of show there was a 10% a-hole fee added into the estimate.
