I am suprised that this car is bid up this high

How come a black car is had to keep clean and looing nice but, " black under hood, much easier to keep looking nice."? Black under the hood DE-values a Mopar. Do it if you want, but I don't consider buying a black under the hood mopar, and I am not a purest.

Why, that's simple; All the oil/grease/crude that collects in the nooks and crannies under the hood shows up like a sore thumb on a light color where it's hidden by a low gloss black. If I had been thinking back in 2000 when I painted my Barracuda Sub-Lime I would have done the under hood black. After 60k miles it looks like hell and to fix it I will need to pull the engine which I am not ready to do at this time.
