The most outrageous auctions I've seen.......

-
I am always surprised that some of these guys just keep on and keep on posting their auctions......and never get a bid. I remember that one guy selling a complete A-body 4-speed setup in Alabama......never a bid, I think it started around $1300 or $1500. Then he just kept putting it up for at least a year or more!!!

You'd think that'd get expensive!

theflr,he's on some serious meds or he should think bout selling his dope instead of using it.:-D

holy crap and belive it or not people actully pay those prices

The auction is long-gone but there was some DOHD years ago selling NOS Mustang ashtray insert for $5000 on account of it being a all-original "Cobra-Jet" ashtray insert!

Yay! (it sold in 4 hours....)

THEFLR is back!!!

So, for the paltry sum of only $1000, you can buy a pair of '67 440 chrome valve covers!!!

Good grief!!!

"cudavert" I am always surprised that some of these guys just keep on and keep on posting their auctions......and never get a bid. Me too. There's a guy flogging a copper '67 GTX for ,literally, years on ebay, and he never changes the "Buy-It-Now" price. He's "sold" it several times through "No reserve" auctions, but, within 2 weeks, its back up for sale, by the same guy. I dont know whats wrong with the car, or the "buyers", or the seller, but thats ridiculous!!! Got be a fortune in listing fees. Its not that the price is that out-of-line either. (shrug)

holy smokes...i don't understand what people think...?? like dude, seriously..? i don't get it..nut jobs i tell ya...nut jobs...

A WORD OF ADVICE IS IN ORDER

I'm going to bare my soul in an effort to prevent someone else from $#@#$%^ themselves like I did recently.

A while ago an e-Bay seller had a set of rocker panel clips for a `68 Barracuda. The moldings these clips hold on are expensive and hard to find un-mangled. I would really have loved to get a new set for my moldings, but unfortunately he had a reserve of something like $140 or some such non-sense. As a matter of fact we joked about it here like we are with these ad's. Had a good laugh. So good I couldn't resist sending him an e-mail and ask him if he was crazy. Yeah, we had a good laugh....

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when a complete set pops up on e-Bay, no reserve, with a sane starting bid of $10. I watch the auction all week and those damn clips never increased until an hour before the auction ended, all the way up to $29. I logged on and waited.... and waited..... and sniped in the last second with an outragous bid of $70. Know what happened? My screen name was blocked and I wasn't allowed to bid. It was the same guy who tried to sell those clips a few months ago for $140. Bastard blocked me and the auction ended. At $29.....

The moral is yeah, some of these guys try and prey on the weak, but don't F`with them. That $1,100 air cleaner might be that part you need and it could be re-listed for sale in March for $75.

And I'd still love to have a new set of clips for when I finally finish restoring those moldings...
