I´m stuck with this. I can´t loose the screw to the turn signal indicator.
Yes, I have tried almost everything except the sledgehammer.
I have followed the shop manual step by step but still...

I need your help!

Thats the screw that holds the signal lever to the switch. It should have been a 1/4 inch hex head. Anyway... looks like the signal wand is already gone ? Remove the 3 screws holding the signal switch in and the swicth should come out of the column with that screw still in it. Once the switch is out you may be able to attack that screw with a drill or from the other end.
Hope this helps

Remove the 3 screws holding the signal switch in

The 3 screws are removed. It is still stuck. I am replacing the old signal switch with a new one from Y.O. Which means I don´t have worry if it got broken.

Any tips on removing the screw on signal switch without harm the steering column?

You have to squeeze that metal rectangle fastener in the center of the cancel cam with a pair a needle nose pliers. it will then fall through the bottom...

Managed to remove the turn signal switch. Yes, I totally trashed the switch. Now I just have to figure out how to remove the screw. Or can I leave there and when I do install the new turn signal switch push it in place? It will be tight but is possible?

The new turn signal switch is back ordered from Y.O and will be delivered by January next year.

Thanks for the link. I will look into that later on today.

I am keeping mine red.. or maybe not. The rest of of the interior is maroon. So it will a bit darker than now.

try a 1/4 inch ratchet with proper six point socket on it,turn counter clockwise to loosen,if that dont work, vise grip's

off topic a little, but if you get a chance, can you get some straight on shots of your column, with the switch out?

Thank you for the link. This is first time I am doing this. It might have something to do with the fact that I am the 17th owner of the Valiant. Some owner in the past surely did something wrong which I have do right.

Ha, I hear ya on the past ownerships...The few previous owners who had my cuda were TOTALLY hack jobs...I have been chasing wires that go all over the place and lead to no-where, stuff is busted, and hacked up, every single part of the car has been touched by someone else... GRRRR They left me alot of work to do... And before you take vise grips to anything, take a couple shots of the column from the front....Maybe I can see if you missed something....

Been there, done thatO:)

The problem is that there is nothing for the ratchet or the vise grip to get grip of.

I guess you tried to unscrew the phillips? Cause once you get that off, that little bracket comes out, then you need a bearing puller to get that top bearing off, and then the housing comes off...

I´ll need to get by the hard ware store to buy a bearing puller. It´s midnight here in Sweden so can´t get one right now.

The story continues...
