Have you ever wondered what one million pennies look like??

I googled the following information...

A penny weighs 2.5 grams or 0.88 ounces. (The actual amount of ounces is 0.08818490495171681, but it is rounded to 0.88) I could not find an online scale, but below is my source. The first one is where I found the weight of a penny, and the second link is where I converted it to grams.
To find how much 27 pennies weigh, just multiply 2.5 grams (2.5 is an easier number than 0.88184...) by 27, then convert the product that you got (use the second link below) into ounces.
I hope this helps.
Good luck on the science fair project!

Googling the weight of 1,000,000 pennies show them to weigh just over 3 tons. That would also change if they were real copper pennies or the new pennies we have now.
