68 twin turbo dart project.

Be careful with that turbo location. They will need a scavenge pump to pump the oil out of the drains and back to the pan, and that might even be questionable.

looks like the turbos are mounted higher than the oil pan to me. I see no problems with the location

Hi guys, I am aware of the turbo location and drain back. I am going to use a remote reservoir and pump the oil back into the pan. Its pretty easy and has been done many times before. Squires turbo systems is probably the most well known to do this. I went down to the shop today to finish up. Here are some pics.

dude this is looking amazing:) i had an idea for you tro think about. cut out fog light holes in the bumper and put the turbo inlet thru there. so they are kinda camoflauged lol idk how sleeper you want this tho lol

Yeah, I don't think the size of the back tires is gonna' give anybody any kind of clue as to what's hiding under the hood! :toothy10:

Awsome car! =P~ I'd go for a ride in the passenger's seat any day (as long as the pavement is dry)! I'd love to see that thing cruisin' down the street. :tongue9:

Beautiful work.

I cannot believe the number of members that drag race their cars..that sport has just about died around here. I'm impressed.

Ian.

are you kidding? theres a pile of people into it, you need to go to greenfield drag strip on the south shore!

Excellent build, I love custom fab work. I think we all need a couple videos when it's done: a cruise night and a full blast down the track :-D

Well its been a while and progress has been slow due to other projects getting in the way.

Here is a chrome moly K frame I have been working on. Its been a challenge so far. I made a jig so that I can copy it in the future for my Swinger. Some pics for ya.

By the way I am currently making the strut rods for it with heim joints to connect them to the K frame. I have already purchased a rack and pinion to use as well. I am a little out of my league with this part and I am trying to think my way through it. Its taking forever!

Cool. Why are you hard mounting the turbo to the frame? I hope just for position? Keep the 90' bends as short as possible. To many turns will cause lag and unwanted spool time...

I am working with my engineering team at work designing turbos for my Cummins...

Thanks

The motor is solidly mounted to the car with motor plates so its pretty irrelevent what the turbos are mounted to. Thanks for the advice, I have experience running this very set up.

Ok cool. I figured that much. Looks very sano. How is the K-frame going? Can't wait to see the final mock-up.

I haven't been on here much, life took an unexpected turn and my time has been diverted to another section of life. I hope to get back on it here this summer. I see your close! I can't wait to see the smile on your face after that thing gets sideway at over a hundred!

Smile? I don't know about that, I think you meant to say Skid marks in my underwear...... Probably gunna scare the crud out of me. I use to get my Dune Buggy Sideways going that fast but on Ice Skates is a whole different thing.

I know your a busy guy with more Iron's in the fire than 10 dudes so where are the updates?? haaaa, just messin with ya! :D
