Hello. I have 2 broken bolts and also 2 stripped on my 66 barracuda with Drum brakes all around. Any pro-tips on how to approach this? And while I am at it should I replace the driver side bolts with non-reverse threaded ones to make it easier to find wheel locks and lugz? I appreciate any advice.

Buy new lugs at your local car parts store, pull all the drums, get a BFH and a drift, beat them out the back of the axles or spindles, put the new ones in from the back, get a bunch of washers that are big enough to go over the shafts of the new lugs, put the lug nut on backwards, and draw them into the axle or spindle until they bottom out, remove the washers and your ready to put the drums back on.

It's really that simple.

Thanks Brad! I love it when the internet is a useful tool instead of a vacuum of crap. You just saved me time and possible heartache on a simple procedure.

You're welcome. Make sure your washers are big enough to clear the splined part of the lug, otherwise the lug will bottom out early on the washers. I ussually use a bunch of washers that are big enough to clear the spline area, then put the last washer near the lug nut that is smaller, but just big enough to clear the threads. Good luck with your project.
