Hi guys,

I have a question for everyone out there. I am restosing a 72 demon and I would like to remove the dash to refinish it. But it looks like I have to remove the window to get at the top screws or do I just remove the trim.

Help please,

I will start posting pics soon

Thanks everyone

I had refinished my dash and had to remove the windshield. But if you are restoring it you may as well replace the windshield gasket anyway. Good luck

The windshield has to come out. I have heard of people doing it without, but I can assure you, you will use more four letter words in the process than your family wishes to hear. LOL. Good luck.

Dash removal is alot easier with the windshield out however it can be done with the windshield in place. There are 5 screws hidden under the windshield gasket which need to be cut off from under the dash. Hopefully the guy that installed the windshield didn't use to much sealant on the gasket because the dash usually winds up glued to the cowl.

once you see where those screws are you will thank yourself you had just removed the window to do it...have fun putting the window back in though...if you do it the old way, it can get pretty damn messy...good luck!

took it out and put it back in without removing windshield...

can be done...

Thanks,

But whats the best way to remove the window and than to reinstall it

Go to body /interior/ paint and there is a thread there I posted with pics,
Its fairly easy to do without removing the windsheild.
