.....................thats just a casting #......late 68 up have a flat pad on the opposite side above the oil pan rail with the serial# there is a flat pad across from the dist, behind the water pump housing..............there is a # on the bell part by the oil pressure sending unit.......also could b under the starter flange........kim....
