I'm getting ready to drop a 360 into my duster... won't be able to get an 8 3/4 for a while. it's a '77 360, its completely stock other than a 650 Edelbrock on top, and I was just wondering how soon it will be before I have to drop out one seven and a quarter for another.

it's just going to get me around town, so it's not like I'm launching hard off the line or anything like that.
plus I'll have disk brakes up front, so braking isn't too big of an issue.

just wondering if you guys are thinking of something I don't realize at the moment.

if you keep your foot out of the gas the 7 1/4 will last a long time

....and run tires with a tread wear rating of 500 or higher. That is the equivelant of running thru an oil slick on steel rimmed wagon wheels.............
..........you ain't gonna break it cause all you do is spin.

alright, so it's pretty much what I thought in the first place, which was be gentle and It'll last.

we have a few of these lying around, and a pair under some four door donor cars, so for the sake of curiosity, I'll be sure to have changed a rear end a few times :)

anybody have any stories about a 7 1/4?
