Hey everyone I'm having a Ford truck Dana 60 cut for my 72 Duster Twister,I want it to fit like the 8 3/4" thats in car now. After a lot of looking these are the measurements I've come up with.I'll be using Moser housing ends, outside Flange to Flange 52 5/8" with a 1 3/16" pinion offset to passenger side. Are these dimensions correct?Hate to make a mistake.:read2:

Are you changing from SBP to BBP or is the 8.75 rear already big bolt?

If it's already BBP, Yes, 52 5/8 is the correct length. Make the drivers side tube 1 3/8" longer than the pass side to get correct pinion offset.

If it's not a BBP rear, then you need to shorten up the dana about 1/2" total for the different brake standoffs.

I have an 8 3/4 rear that came in my 68 cuda, and I'm actually looking for a 68+ B-Body rear to put under it so I can run the mustang bullitt rims. (17x8 5.72 backspace)

hi, when I did my dana 60, I set both housings up, ran a pipe through the center of pinion bores, and cut ends same as the 8 3/4 was. it fits perfect. also, I used the 8 3/4 ends on my dana, kept the same brakes and drums. way less work. moser can make you big bolt pattern axles to fit your abody. I used strange axles, in fact same ones I had in the 8 3/4. just food for thought

Thank's for info,I want to keep my 8 3/4" intack,it's all new.So 52 5/8" and 1 3/8" offset for the Dana it is.I want the WOW factor.

The 1 3/8 is not the pinion offset. It's the difference in tube lengths to get the proper pinion offset.

Like I wrote, if you have a SBP set up now or bbp using redrilled sbp drums, BBP stuff will push your tires out about 1/4" on each side. If it's already BBP using the larger drums, then cut it at 52/58.

I have an excel spreadsheet written that calculates the axle tube lengths and required axle lengths for both D60 and 8.75's. Shoot me a PM with an e-mail address if you want it.

Doctordiff told me that the drivers side tube is 1.375" (1 3/8") longer to get a stock mopar pinion offset.

out of curiosity, being the tube is longer on the drivers side, does that mean the axles are longer on the drivers side also?

"excel spreadsheet written that calculates the axle tube lengths"

Any way I can get in on some of that action? PM sent.

they need to make a sticky with all the cool converters and CORRECT pages you have found and made!!!

Returned the two PM's with E-mails including the excel sheet.
