I have a car in storage and mold has become a problem. Mold has taken over the interior of a car. Now it is on the steering wheel, sun visors, and seats. What is the best way to get a handle on this before it eats everything? What is a good method to reduce the moisture inside the car to help prevent the mold?

Get a plastic jar and pour some rock salt in it. It will absorb the moisture.

You could also leave the windows down a bit so condensation and moisture cant really build up or you could just leave the windows down and a jar of peanut butter in there and with all the mice running around in the car there would be some crazy wild air movement and someone looking after the car for you.. but then i guess mouse poo could be an issue.. so make sure to leave toilet paper!

hehe

but ya rocksalts.. that same crap you get in your new shoes..

Wouldnt rice work the same? but that could cause issues with rodents i presume.

Thanks for the ideas. Surprisingly I did not see any evidence of rodents. I keep lots of mothballs inside and charcoal. The charcoal didn't do as well as I expected in keeping the moisture out. I will try adding rock salt. Thanks for the help.

Home Depot and Lowe's Sell products for moisture removal in basements. Comes in a bucket, Not sure of any brand names. You may want to try one of those.

An Ozone Generator would remove the musty smell.

I hang a packet from my rear view mirror called Moisture Rid that I get at Wally World or Home Depot. Once the white crystals disappear in the cllear container, you know its time to replace. Keeps my Duster drier with no musty smell. I do my whole garage as well. Thewse things qare pretty cheap. About 6 bucks for 4 individual hanging bags
