Mopar Nationals?

The wife and are going. We got a room in Heath this year, in the past we've stayed at the KOA at Buckeye Lake great place to stay.
We don't even get close to Brice Rd, we usally go to Heath and watch the cruising their, the Police seemed pretty cool.
All I can say, I hope the swap meet area does'nt brake the bank. Last year I thought everything was made of gold.

I think were staying at the Best Western, Made reservation last year when got home from Nats.

Hope to see ya.

We are staying at the same place as last year.

Yep, I'm going staying in Hebron at the Super 8. Forget Brice Rd to my Cops, my wife and I watch the cruisin on the main drag of Hebron.
Last two years the cops have been pretty cool lots of MOPAR'S doing burn outs and tire squeling. One year my wife emptied out the cooler of all our water for burn outs.

I will be there along with HemiDenny, Duster Dave, brother John and a few other friends. I'm leaving Pittsburgh Thursday or Friday morning. Its about 3 hour drive. Look for us in the show field, we will have a big blue tent, 3 or 4 Dusters, Orange, Lime Green and Rootbeer colors!

Yep........be there with the above lunatics.......in the middle of the small judged show field.........about 100 yards from the concours judging tent and display. My "new" '70 won't be done until next year but it looks like we will have 3 Dusters (one Hemi, one 406" small block 6-pack and one 440) as well as one sweet 340 Demon. I look forward to meeting anyone from the forums that cares to drop by........................

I'll be there with my '69 'Cuda!! Going with my car club as well, but I'll probably be parked in the Young Guns area... going to try to win that this year! :D (First year out with the car). Haven't been to the 'Nats since '99... can't wait to have some fun!!

Oh, there are a BUNCH of us staying at the Spring Hill Suites and Residence Inn in Gahana... GREAT burnout party there!! :headbang:

So how do the Nats and Carlisle compare? I go to Carlisle every year, but have always been courious if it's worth it to me to drive to Ohio to go to this event. Has anybody here been to both? If it's bigger than Carlisle, I might concider it next year.

Bigger mess than Carlisle YES!! Columbus is the most unorganized show on the planet. Cars parked everywhere, golf carts galore and lots of chaos. There is a huge swap area at the Nats- I believe Carlisle is larger. The only things that Columbus brings to the table is the show is at a race track and the night time cruising. You can have a good time going over to the Heath cruise, Brice road as mentioned turns into a parking lot. It is closer for me to go to Columbus than Carlisle and I go to both every year, but if it was reversed I would go to Columbus once every three or four years. Worth checking out at least once.

69 DART gt,, hi im also new to this board,,i just learned about heath..??

can you e mail me with location direction and details,,

the guy with the 67 cuda,,,they are celabrating the barracuda,,thats why i am going this year,,i have a 66 prostreet blown barrauda,, and i want to see the ronnie sox deal,,,,,

as far as carlisle vs the nats once upon a time the nats was the single biggest on type car event in the country,,,now there are so many events across the country,, i went to the nats every year for years,,while i lived in the midwest,,back then it was a killer event,,5000 cars,,unorganized, lots of swap meet stuff,, and brice road was the best part,,,then they moved the nats to indy for a few years,,and it was baddd,,no night life,,cops didnt put up with any crusising at allll..... then they moved the nats back to columbus,,,thats when the cops started shuting down brice road,,i have been there once in the last 10 years,,brice road ws down to one lane,,no slicks,,no open exhaust like in the past,,,no throwing water ballons at ford and GM,,,
now if i rememebr correctly you can see the swap meet in about 30 minutes,,and you may be able to buy some thig if you have a million bucks,, in your pocket,, carlisle is the place,,all cars are parked in a group,,model year,,,body style,,,stock or modified,,this year was over 1200 swap meet venders,, over 3000 show cars,,,my guess 1000 cars in the car corrall
special displays,,,a GREAT event a must for any true mopar guy weather your car is done or not,,,

there were rooms last week for the nats at spring hill suites that is like 3 miles off of brice a nice place not far from the track 665 taylor rd,,,columbus
(614) 501 4770 129 a night...ouch,,,

69dart e mail me if you see this please fstfish66@aol.com

:lurk: My wife has been wanting to visit our son (and our new grandson) who live in Central PA. So I worked it out to pass through central Ohio on Nats weekend. "WHOA SWEETIE!, WHAT A COINCIDENCE........" This will be my third Nats. Is it me or does the event seem a bit disorganized at times? Monster Mopar on the other had is run like a military operation, and its slightly smaller size makes it more user friendly. I'll be the round guy with the "Cowtown Mopars" T-shirt. If you're coming up from the south, we found rooms in Lancaster, OH for about half of what they go for between Columbus proper and the track ($59 vs $109). Hope to see you all there! RICK

Yes, I can't to see the ronnie sox display and for any one new, You have to come down to Brice st and check it out. It is almost a fun as the track.
See you there.

If you were going to central PA, you should have arranged to go to Carlisle instead. That's where Carlisle is... Central PA.

The Nats disorganized? I’m confused……I go, I park, I look, I drink and eat and drink and it all seems fine! What do you guys mean by disorganized?

ONE: 2004 " Gate A is for pre entered show vehicles with credentials already in place" The line of people buying spectator tickets extended out onto 40. I finally drove down to the vendors gate to get in. TWO: 2003 "where is the Dart display?" " The what display?" " I dunno" "ask somebody else.." THREE: 2005 Brought an unlettered 67 GTX with a full cage, slicks, headers hanging out the bottom, class lettering on the windows, on a trailer. "Hey! show cars go on the spectator side!" It took an hour to get in the pits. A half dozen people didn't know who to ask, but they ALL knew it wasn't THEIR decision. FOUR: 2003/04/05 " where's check in" The most intellegent answer I got was "someplace in the pits". We figured it must be part of the tradition. Now once ya get in........IT ROCKS!

Wow, what you just described sounds like foreplay, but once you get in, it rocks! See you there!

:drinkers: Mark, let's hoist one, I'll buy !! RICK p.s. hey 77 my son and daughter in law live in Harrisburg, so I'm workin' on that whole Carlisle thing....
