Got the 440 in my 71 Scamp using the Schumacher headers and mounts. Trying to figure out what exhaust to use. Trying to keep the cost as low as possible because I'm way over budget on this project.. I'm sure most of you know the feeling! Any input appreciated.

I`ve heard of guys modifying the B-body headers. That would be one cheap alternative to using Schumacher tri-y`s or actually buying a pair of A-body headers.

Schumacher headers are already installed. I'm talking about exhaust system from the header back. Thanks

do you have a exhaust man that can make up a system will be the cheap way out

Oh, I didn`t read that right. Sorry. Summit sells a 2.5" (out the back) system for A-bodies with turbo mufflers for about 2 bills.

I'm not sure where the exit is on the Schumacher headers, but it would seem that you just need one bend on each head pipe. That should be cheap at most muffler shops. You can finish it from there.

I bought some 2 1/2 inch straight pipe and took it to a friend with a pipe bender. Then hung some dynaflows on mine. Only needs a short bend at the front of each pipe. A couple of downspouts and drove away within 30 minutes.

Thanks guys. I saw the 2.5" system fron summit. The price seemed right, Just seeing what the rest of you guys thought.

The 2.5" from Summit is a pretty good system for the price. I would use it again. Just fab your own head pipes, and your in business.:toothy10:

I used a 2 1/2" exhaust kit from Jegs and welded my own for my Scamp. You will need a few bends on the driver side by the trans to keep it neat and to keep the heat away from the transmission.
