LMAO...what started as a couple week driver paint job turned into a couple month nit-pickin' NICE paint job. We'll see after tomorrow. I can truthfully say if there's any flaws in the paint, it's not going to be because of the body work. We did a whole lot more than what I had originally planned to do. Nice thing about Rick is, he doesn't like to do stuff half-assed. :)

Want to see this thing in color already..lol. It's looking great, and I really like the raisin bran hood on there

Rick did all the spraying. I put the finish coat on the front valance, but I have to give credit to Rick for the rest. The man knows how to lay down paint!! It looks MUCH better in person...pics only tell half the story. WOOHOO!!

More pics to follow when the weather clears and we can get it out of the garage. Supposed to rain for the next few days, so she's staying nestled in the garage for a while.

You chickened out with the Do-rag.

A little brown on your dome would have looked good!

Man that sounds sick...

Looks like fun. Paint looks great too. Kinda concerned, the ventilation set up was . . . interesting. For other folks whom are thinking of the setting up their own booth (I'll probably be doing my own as well at some point), and for your future references; I recall reading about setting up a home paint booth and the key item was to have at least 2 times the surface area on the air inlet as that of the discharge area. Reason being, you are spraying paint with "air" and adding more air to the space than the small inlet will allow replacement air to get in therefore not allowing enough air "exchanges" as you are spraying (adding more air) the booth will quickly fill with fumes = not enough flow in/out.

Turned out very nicely love the paint.

Can't wait to see it and lean into it with my levis and those nasty buttons! 8)

Looks really nice. Almost has two hues, one when close and another darker when further away.

Yep...it changes color. In the garage it looks very silver. Out in the sun it darkens up and looks like metallic charcoal. I'm pretty happy with the color.

The name of the color is Dark Quartz Grey Metallic.

looks amazing!!! good skills to have...sure in the heck wish i could do body and paint!

Just reading your post. That colou,r Pewter met, was the colour of the 1981 limited edition MGbgt. I resprayed my '71b that colour..

That is one sweet colour that you will niot get bored of and it polishes up really nice..good choice..

You pegged it crackedback, it picks up oranges and purples. I like it, will look good with the trim. Nice job guuys.

Thanks all...more pics to follow once I finish "restoring" the grilles and putting all the trim back on. :)

Friggin awesome, Mike. I sold the car to the right guy. I cant wait to see the car assembled. Nice job. Now shove a big v8 in there!!!!

WOW!!! I would say that it needs some sort of gun metal grey stripe from challengertgary to totally set it off. Looks great!
