Hi guys (and girls if there are any here),

I'm Alain (pronounced Allan) and came across this board when I was just surfing the net for info on Darts.

I have owned a '69 Dart since 1998 and have had heaps of fun with it. It had a 318-4bbl, though it was originally a 273 car. It was imported into Holland from Monrovia (CA) in 1997 by a good friend of mine.

It has been sitting apart since Feb 2003 because I decided to put a twin turbo motor in it. One thing lead to another and what was originally supposed to be a 1 year project, has turned into a just about never ending story. In the meantime I have however had a lot of work on a house I'm renovating, so for a period of 3 years I hadn't done any work on the Dart.

This year I hope to get her running again for the first time in 7 years. Some of the specs on my Dart:

318ci, twin Garrett GT32's, Transgo equipped 727 with Alto red's and Kolene steels, 4 link rear, mini-tubbed, beefed up 10-bolt with 3.73 and posi (yeah I know, it's a Chevy rear - but ran into it), Autronic SM2 (1.93 chip set) ECU for the multipoint injection, Edelbrock Super Victor EFI intake, Edelbrock RPM heads (ported by Hensley Racing), Custom 8.0:1 Ross Forged Racing pistons, custom grind Comp Cams roller cam, Crane Gold Race Roller Rockers, 273 forged crank, Eagle ESP-3D H-beam rods and ARP studs throughout.

I did all the fabwork myself (stainless steel turbo headers, 4 link, tubs, sub frame connectors, etc.) and built the Engine and Trans too.

Here are some pics:

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

My Dart used to run well in it's former life, but I certainly hope she'll run a lot harder now.

Ha ha ha ! OH WOW!, that is some set up! Nice work. I'd love a shot of the rear end set up if you could. Those headers are some job. Nice. You do them?

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the site, nice work on the Dart. May I ask what else you have hiding in the garage? Is that a Coronet I see?

Thanx. Yes that is a Coronet you see there, but it's a friend's. I was renting this garage with 2 others at the time (before I bought my house with shed) In the back corner of the garage there's a '69 Roadrunner drag car you can just make out. The Coronet is for sale now and the Roadrunner is long gone.

What else I have in my own garage is a '77 Dodge W200 Powerwagon with a 318ci single turbo setup, a '69 RS Camaro with a worked 327ci and a '67 Camaro (no motor and needs a lot of work - someones unfinished project).

In one of the earlier posts, you can see that I have since changed the single diagonal track locator to a X-brace one and constructed the main one from bigger pipe. The 2 bottom rods still need to be redone to make them sturdier too.

Between the front mounting points I'm going to connect a rear driveshaft loop and the cage will have 2 points welded to the mounts as well. This will be to tie it all together. When the cage is in, I can make some caps to fit over the holes in the floor and close them up again (much like the center tunnel but only short pieces).

Here are some more shots of the headers. I constructed them myself (took about 10 hours per side) and had a friend with a TIG welder finish them after I tacked them all together. They drop in from the top without removing anything and I have clear access to all the plugs.

We do our best on this side of the pond :toothy7:I just hope the motor doesn't end with a bang after I fire her up! Will definately get some video of the maiden flights.

Now just hope this cold weather goes away so I can get back to work in the shed.

Alain that is some great work and very different. Love the 4 link set up, very nicely done.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to FABO.

I haven't seen to many other Darts with 4-links.....at least not stock chassis cars. It really isn't all that hard to build. You just need to be secure in your measuring. The real fun starts once you wanna drive it and get it to hook.

Alain, welcome to the best Mopar site on the net!!! We don't have a lot of girls on board but there are a few of us.

That is one sweet looking Dart you have! Personally I love the headers and especially that purple block ... very distinctive, and goes great with all the other custom work you've done to it.

Keep us posted on your progress and keep the car **** coming! :-D
