First Car?

-
'63 Buick Riviera bought it from my parents when I turned 16 (1977), they bought it in '65. Don't have it anymore. Tried to find it 15 years ago from the license plate number, which I still remember, but the dead end ended there. The plate was either replaced or the car is crushed most likely both.

66 Barracuda Formula S 650 bucks came with 8track tape player and an extra set of snow tires...still have it after more than 35 years.

This is my first car. Saw one at the volo auto museum when i was 14 and started saving. I bought it not running as soon as i turned 16. 318/904 8 1/4. First i blew up the 904. then the 318 started to shoot fire because the timing chain was so stretched out. only on decel. though it was cool. Then I bought a blown up 340 from my buddies duster and had it machined and put it together. Then the 8 1/4 needed a posi so i bought a posi one. That started to fail so i got a 8 3/4. Then the 904 blew up again so I had a race 727 built then I sold the car to buy my duster. Now Im 23 and the duster is on the street. I miss the charger alot and I learned everything I know from that car but Im hoping i wont regret selling it too much. The duster is what i was really after I think but everyones been giving me a hard time about it lately. Is it better to have a nice cruiser or a fast street strip car?

I would have had trouble turning down buying it, it's hard to replace your first car and to have found it almost 40 years later, WOW! For what it is, the price doesn't sound to bad.

I would gladly pay a good price to get my first Charger back that I bought when I was 17

1995 Mazda Rx-7 Touring...

Black/black,

2 years later, after a built rotary and a turbo that sucks like an entire brothel...

She decided it was in love with a tree more then meee.....

1970 Pontiac Tempest when I was 17. We pulled the 350 2bl and dropped a 400 4bl from a firechicken. Stationwagon coils on the back had it jacked way up and drum brakes all around made it an accident waiting to happen and it did. I wrote it off 2 years later.

My first car was a '71 Vega.

My first Mopar was a '74 360 Duster

My first car was a 69 camaro. I put a big block in it and a fiberglass front end put on before I ever drove the car. I had to work every weekend to make enough money to drive the car to school everyday

I am sure this has been gone over a few times but I am having some troubles finding the threads.. What was your first car? Do you still have it? Mine was a 1970 AMC Ambassador, it had a 360 2bbl on it. Wish I didn't sell it..

Cool car!!!
Mine was a 65 Dart 4 Door (big suprise here right) slanty auto.
Got it from mom (borrow all the time), she got it from my grandpa.
When it was time to sell it she traded my grand pa for a 6 cyl Nova.
The 65 Dart then went from my grand pa to a neighbor behind his house, my house now. When they got it from him it had well over 250,000 miles and still running like a race car.
A couple years after I heard the parking brake went out, it rolled down a pretty good hill down their driveway cross the street on the other side of my corner lot, and down a 12' embankment into Stoney Lonesome Creek. On the way down it careened off a phone poll. At 375,000 miles and laying in the bottom of the creek, and pass side wipedoff with a phone pole, it was pulled from creek and continued to be used until 425,000 miles and was then sold to a local high school boy where we lost track of it. I know it's not in any of the junk yards round here, not even the ones Yard Dawg has his parts cars in!
At the time I despised having to drive that car. Would go into school late so as not be seen driving it!
The Nova?
Basically stole it out from under Mom. Tore the 6 cylinder out of it and dropped in a 327 with camel hump heads. First time I really ever built a non lawnmower engine. Spun a bearing a month later and had to sell to the mechanic for repair bills. Parents were kinda pissed at that teardown! There have been many more sense but have turned out better!LOL!!

Looking back I guess I really don't wonder where all our 4 door Darts are comming from. It's a sublimital thing about being able to fix my own car on the cheap, no payments, cheap tags and insurance, and the unbeleivable milage that first Dart had when we lost track of her.8)

Don't quote me on mileages, grand pa liked to spin a good yarn! Ohhh Thats where I got it! The only one I was sure about was the 250K+ when it went back to him!

I've got no problem believing the mileage on that '65 Dart- When I was 15, my parents bought an '84 Ram B350 w/ a slant & 5 spd. Aside from being one of two personal vehicles, my mom also used it as 1/3 of a small trucking company she worked for- back and forth to Florida at least once a month for the next 7 years, and the slant ultimately spent time in 36 of 50 states. After my mom passed away, that van spent the next 5 years as my father's only vehicle and all-around workhorse in his carpentry business before going to the junkyard (under it's own power) with 575K on the clock.

First and only car ever owned is a 1974 Plymouth Gold Duster. All original except for the Wheels/tires(I still have the original set), floor carpeting, Tape deck, and the replaced Vynal cover. I also got all the paper and reciets for anthing that has ever been done too it, mostly Tire rotations, oil changes, the receit for the vynal cover change.

it is the Car in my Avatar picture. will add pictures soon.
