Well guys Saturday my Dart should be completely done at the paint shop. I stopped by yesterday and the guy was doing some final work in order to make the paint really glossy and nice. Man I think it's going to look sharp!!!!! Will post pics hopefully on Saturday.

Congrat's LJS30  awaiting pictures =P~=P~
I hope today flies by for you :-D

That's exciting! A word of advice from someone who's been there, check every square inch out in the daylight, and if you have any issues, leave the car there till they fix them. Once you take the car home you lose some of your leverage for getting the little things taken care of.

I can't agree more. A good shop will make it good.
Years ago I had a car painted at a local shop with a great reputation. Granted, I'm extremely picky but upon picking it up I had a list of over 20 items that I wasn't happy with. The kicker was a tiny bug that got caught under the clearcoat on the roof of the car. The shop owner kept the car, stripped it down and completely repainted it - even though it was an insurance job.
You worked hard for your dollars to pay for their labor and expertise and they need to work just as hard for your satisfaction since their reputation and future business is on the line.

Now with all that said - PICS NEEDED!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. I am absolutely ecstatic and am hoping it's good to go tomorrow. It was done by a kid who's done two previous jobs for me so I have confidence. However I'll keep a good eye on possible issues.

I beyond agree.

Well it wasn't ready yet. My friend who painted it left for basic training so his uncle, the man who painted my Mom's 83 Cougar is finishing it up. Hmmmmm, I better not regret this.

Well I doubt anyone has been wondering but just in case and for my own enjoyment here's an update. The kid who painted my ride is now in South Carolina for basic training in the army. I stopped by the shop on Monday and spoke with his father who is now in charge of the job. He said not to worry that they're running another car, a lowrider, out before mine then finishing mine right up. He said they need to do a final buff, put all the trim back on, then it's done. He gave me a firm hand shake and said not to worry she's in good hands. :salute:

I was wondering how you made out...I've been there, it always takes longer than expected but then suddenly they want to get the car out of their shop so they get it finished. Again, make sure it's all done right.

I checked it out on Monday though and really focused on the areas where they had to patch weld. It looked good so that's very comforting. It's just odd because the shop is a little shady so whenever I stop by it's thug central. Who cares though right? I'm sure some of you guys have been to some shady locales during your time in this hobby. :pirat:

I will for sure man. You know I should talk about shady though. I'm a Mexican with a shaved head so I'm sure some people are saying the same about myself.

You should be fine as long as you don't have a tatoo of a spider plastered across the front of your face! :-D

Car looks good!
