No 383-S or 340-S callout emblem on a "Cuda" package car.

Your engine call out would be a big sticker behind the front tires.

This further confuses things……..

It is entirely possible that you have a Formula S and the original owner had the scoops and stripes added….. After seeing one.

But we can't know.......

Well........... mine has both, but it does not have the S applique on the tailpanel ????
And as you stated, before the stripes on the bottom of the car are old enough that they outlasted the rust in the lower quarters,
So i guess without all of the build sheet or the orginal fender tag, it looks like i am leaning more towards the fact that it could be a Formula S cloned to a A57 unless i find out for sure, don't want to mislead anyone, when i sell it, but think it still should do good. Yet i still have a small ray of hope that it is something wierd that mopar did, and i can find some proof, if not than it is what it is.
