C.A.R.B is at it again

I read a chunk of the link but not the entire thing. What definition are they applying to the term race fuel? Is it going to pertain to leaded fuels, unleaded fuels over a specific octane rating or a combination of the two. These jackasses at CARB are a piece of work. I've been taking notice of their fine work for years. I guess I am trying to figure out if this is going to affect the stocking/sales of 100 octane (unleaded) at the local gas stations.

Ben if the gas station you get it from puts road tax of the fule then you are good. That is realy what this is all about. Race gas does not have road tax on it. They don't give a rats @$$ about the enviroment they just want the money.

Looks like Dad is going to have to think of a new plan for his motor build. We were going to put a Whipple charger on his LS-7 and run race gas. That is not looking like a good way to go now.

I'm filling out any paperwork as

Ahnold Schwartzenpecker
Sacramento, CA

I'm thinking it's all about the road tax. Just like buying off road/farm diesel fuel. Get caught with that stuff driving and it's a big fine.

The bad thing is us off road guys with sand cars that never see the road will now have to pay road tax. What a bunch of BS.

I think the govenator needs terminated. LOL

did anyone read the article a while back in the mopar collecters guide talking about global warming and how it is a farce . over 30,000 american scientists who have studied it signed a petition stating that global warming is not man made and weather patterns are the same as they were in the early 1800s. they said the whole global warming thing is just another way for the government to regulate and tax us.

What will they go after next? Maybe home-made bio-diesel? No taxes from it, so they'll probably outlaw it. lol What a State. And a bankrupt one at that. Yay Arnie!

Does anyone remember the 1970's when they were claiming "Global Cooling"?
It a way to create panic and promote thier own agendas.

Also anyone aware of the new OBDiii computer systems in the cars now?
OBDiii . If your engine light is triggered due to an emission code. You will get a letter from the government telling you that you have so many days to comply. Get it fixed. If you dont get it fixed according to their schedule they have the ability to shut down your car by satellite. Thats right your car will not start if your engine light is on. On Star gotta love it.

This is currently being taught at our Universities. It is in my books.

Probably about tax.We have not been allowed to use things like farm gas or av gas for years in Canada. It has a purple dye added to it for I.D purposes. And the best I've ever seen at the pump is 94 octane Chevron, but not every station carries it.

Homemade biodiesel is already taxed. Anything over 400 gallons a year must pay taxes on it.
Also any fuel you make.... you must pay road tax on it. Even woodgas.

Yes I have done Biodiesel, Vegetable oil, and woodgas.

Laws in Oregon (not yet passed) they want to track you by satellite and charge you a tax on a per mile basis. Stating "because electric cars dont pay road tax"

Time for us to take a stand and start trying to get our taxes lowered. Here in MI I beleive road tax is over $0.75 per gallon, sucks when my truck only gets 7 mpg way to high.

  • The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars
and you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system??

California is a very nice place. I do like it here. It is to bad a bunch of money hungry people have taken controle though.
been that way as far back as I can remember. Bought my first new street bike in 1985. Still remember the brochure having 2 bikes listed, the 49 stater and the California model. the California bike was heavier, a bit slower and a few more $$$ thanks to Ca. emissions. You made mention about the glamis dunes. I do know the Patton Race Engines can build some insane power on pump gas, with not very big displacement. I bought some parts years ago off of somebody who had one of his street motors, it was Ford 351 based motor, somewhere around 380". Put out over 650 horsepower, was beyond pricey though, close to 30k. But then again, some of those guys have over 150k in just fab work........

I here you on that. It's been bad for a long time.

Ya we go of to Glamis all the time. Going out this week end. My dad has a 700 HP LS-7 in his Alumicraft sand rail running on AV gas but you know we wanted more HAHA. Will think of some thing. Was going to run a whipple charger on it with race gas but now? I don't know back to the drawing board. LOL
