I know that the lever action 904 will fit perfectly behind the 360 in our old 64 Dart. We are going to install a 66 stock console shifter into the 64. That way, we'll have a lever shift trans. rather than a cable shift.
Although your question was pertaining to my comment, you should also be aware that the stock 64/65 buckets are wider than the 66 buckets. Once the 66 console is installed you might have problems adjusting the seats back and forth due to being so tight against the console. I did the same swap years ago in my 65 GT convert and for and aft seat adjustment was difficult at best. I am putting a buddy seat in my 65 Dart wagon but am using 66 Barracuda buckets to give me the adjustment room.
