1969 Dart slanty single bbl Holley 1920.

Past year or two I have noticed some stange things in the carb world.

2 years ago was trying to get a 2 bbl carb for my 64 273. No cores avail at manufacturer. I was not willing to send mine away without a spare core in hand. Found one, bolted it up, ran better than mine. Sent mine off to rebuild.

Last summer, I tried to get a new 4 bbl for our 67 318. No cores at manufacturer!! I ordered what the computer said a 67 dart 4bbl took. I ordered the "High Performance" 4 barrell carb. 2 days later when I went to pick up, opened the box, and low and behold there was the 2 barrell carb I needed the year before!! ok mental note for next time I need 2 bbl for 64, order High performance 4 bbl for 67 dart!

Lately we got our sons 69 sold back to us. This past Christmas we needed money so I took our 1920 original core in for the $50.00. Well now I need one.
No one has any cores at manufacture not even my old one! Napa can get for $218.00!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! with a $12.00 core????
So I pull 2 from the yard yesterday, both 1920's single barrel. 1 was from a 69 like ours but had air conditioning.
The other came out of a duster and looked as though it had been recently rebuilt before the car made it to the junk yard.
When I get the home, they are set up differently. Duster has real small vac outlet on drivers rear side of carb plate. the dart has a large one like I need.

Finally Here's the question: The one off of the 69 like I need has a small round rubber vent cap on top of bowl with an arm that lifts it or closes it.
The recent rebuild I am wanting to replace has that sealed off as part of carb case not rubber and no opening action!
What's the difference between the two besides the obvious?

I did pull 2 carbs because I noticed FABO was short on 1920 carbs and have been quite a few members looking for them.

Please enlighten me and I guess I'll have a 1920 carb core for a Duster for sale! LOL!!8)
