best disc brakes for sbp

The Kelsey Hayes setup is the factory SBP A body setup, installed at the factory and offered on Abodies from 1965 - 72. The setups can be found in the parts for sale sections on this website as well as other Mopar websites, including www.moparts.com and www.slantsix.com.

The factory SBP Kelsey Hayes setup has two-piece rotors that are available new from Centric, 4 piston calipers, and a unique spindle.

One thing to consider whenever considering doing a disc brake conversion:
Try to get the entire complete disc brake component setup off the donor car.
Be especially aware that if you are moving to discs from drums, you will need a disc brake master cylinder and a disc brake proportioning valve.

If you moved to LBP, your front track would be different/wider compared to the SBP front track.

The LBP setup would require you also factor in the expense of moving to LBP wheels, LBP rear axles, as part of the LBP conversion.

Converting to LBP can be expensive when you factor in all of these changes, and the expenses for each part of the conversion.

Figure that a good SBP Kelsey Hayes setup can be had complete for $350 - 550, depending on the overall completeness of the setup, and the overall condition/reuseability of the setup parts included.

On this site someone recently sold a SBP setup with NEW rotors, Newly rebuilt Calipers, new wheel bearings and seals, and newer ball joints included with the upper control arms, for $525...

Hope this helps...
