Wondering what is the correct shifter knob for my 69 Barracuda. Is it the one in the picture or is it the wood grain??

I believe you are right 66340SEDAN, The round wood grain one started in 70

I am not sure which you are talking about. The one pictured is the mid to late 60s floor mount automatic. The later ones (70s) are brown (wood?) with a black top button or a "T" handle slap stick.

The wood grain ball started in 69 on both the A & B bodies, the same with the wood grain inlay. The chrome top and shifter knob was 66-68

I agree with the above post, '69 is when the woodgrain knob started.

Depends on the build date. If before Jan 1, 69, more than likely has the chrome knob.

That may be possible but in the almost 30 years I've been messing with A-Bodies, I've never seen a 69 that came with a chrome knob or chrome top plate unless someone had changed it at some time, which wasn't uncommon, I know a few people back in the early 80's that switched theirs out because they thought the chrome looked better. You could get a complete console for $15 at the local yard back then.

I do know the knob matched the top plate, so if you have a wood grain top plate, you should have the wood grain knob and vise versa.

OK thanks Blownfish....Woodgrain it is !

1969 Plymouth Barracuda sales brochure shows woodgrain console with brown plastic shifter ball..

If you are switching to the wood grain ball and the chrome is good on the plastic button your taking off, I would be interested in it.

My ModTop came with the chrome knob and Woodgrain plate. I know it is original because my parents got it brand new as a wedding present.

I was searching for the proper 4 speed shift knob colour for 69. I did not notice the date on this thread but had to put my 2 cents in.
