Well, I guess I am kind of a Mopar Newbie. The first NEW car I ever purchased was a 1971 Challenger. What a P.O.S.! That car made me swear off anything made by Chrysler Corp.! I kept that promise until last Oct., when I was at a local car show, I saw a real nice '65 barracuda. It wasn't for sale. I went home and got on the internet, and found one. After several e-mails and phone calls, a deal was struck. I traded my '46 ford street rod for this '65 Barracuda last Fall. I have been working on the interior for most of the winter. Now it's on to the tired 318 under the hood. I will be looking for a 8 3/4 rear probably sooner than I want. I'll try to attach some pics.

Welcome to fabo! nice 'cuda! hope you have fun here, you'll learn everything you need to

That Challenger had several issues that the dealer never did fix. The car was a low optioned 318 automatic with the normal fit and finish issues of the time. Driving at low speeds it was OK, but at highway speeds, it would over heat. The dealer said it was the radiator cap. They put on at least 3 caps. I think they were trying to bide their time until the warranty ran out. I should have pushed the issue more, but hey, I was only 19! Also, the brakes were really strange. If you had to brake hard, you might go straight, you might to the left, you might go right. You never did know.

Welcome aboard! That's a sweet Early A -- please show off all that hard work you've been doing to the interior when you get a chance.

Make yourself at home and keep us posted on your progress.
