My 360 build. Input needed.

Well I need your input on this build. My plan were originally a 408, but we have used most of the funds that I had saved for that build on other more important things. So what I am doing now is a good flat tappet LA 360 build. The block is getting a .030 over bore and KB107 pistons. The machine shop will be assembling the short block, so I can take advantage of their one year warranty. My biggest issue is the heads. The machine shop has already checked out and installed hardened exhaust seats in my J heads, so there is some time and money invested in these already. My plans were 2.02 intakes and get them to a head porter in Salt Lake to clean up the bowls and runners. Then get them back to the machine shop for a good 3 angle valve job and finish them up.

I really only want a good solid motor that could run in the 12's at the track and have a nice lopey idle. Is this possible with my J's cleaned up?

In a perfect world I would rather get some RHS heads and be done with it, but I can get these J's together for another $500 and have them flow decent. I also need suggestions on cam. I like comp cams and have used their stuff in the past. Maybe an XE274? Most of the other stuff will just swap over from my 318, so the car will be getting a holley 750, air gap intake, 3,000 stall and 3.89 gears.

Let's hear what you got.

If your replacing valves, and probably guides, I'd go with 11/32 stuff and use a 1.94 chevy valve. Fits the bowl better and will require less porting.
I would also run the 275HL comp cam over the XE274.
