HELP..... I have a 67 Dart that I do not have the trim or gasket to install the windshield. I do have 68 trim and clips. I would like to know how others have handled the installation? Also, how is the large gap at the ends of the dash and the windshield pillers handled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I posted this on here but no one said anything about it and it's like the biggest problem for any 67 dart or cuda.

They sell it brand new with the plastic trim.$161.00 back glass kit
$191.00 front windshield. 8)

Well i just called them, and i guess the front windshield gasket is only for the convertible.
They sell the chrome strip for it.

is the gasket the same cross section? What I mean is could it be cut somehow to make it work??? or is it totally different?

where do you see windshield gasket for darts or barracuda? I only see one for convertables, or do both use same? I doubt it

The vert uses only one length of chrome look plastic insert and it is a different profile than whats used on the notch and coupe.
There are several threads about using the 68 and up gasket and stainless on the 67.

agree... they list convertables. I wonder if the convertable gasket coult be cut down to work? Of coarse it would have to be longer to begin with. Such a project the windshield has turned out to be. Thanks everyone for helping.

If you have 68 trim why not just use it? You will need to remove the windshield to install the clips and re-install the windshield with a 68 gasket and then snap the 68 trim on.

If you have the option to go with the 68 gasket and trim go for it. There was a reason chrysler only used the lockstrip trim for one year in 67, it sucks! I put a new one on last year and it looks great, but it was a hassle. If you want some 67 NOS trim follow this Ebay link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

This is the set I bought. It is the trim you see in the picture. Good luck!

Nice car. Love the color.

Much thanks to everyone that replied. I bought the 68 gasket and will be going that direction.. Then vinyl top and headliner... wish me luck.

so if you have a 68 gasket does anybody know where to locate the trim for it?. My 67 has the 68 gasket but I need all the chrome trim

That stainless for the front window can come from any A-body 68 through 76 except Duster, Demon, Dart Sport ( those have rounded corners ).

So, just to be clear, since I will need to do this soon on my 67 dart, the 67 windshield gasket is not reproduced and not available anywhere, but a 68 gasket will work? And Steele Rubber sells the 68 gasket and the lockstrip, which is the metal looking trim?

There are 2 different types of 68 up gaskets. One is a one piece self locking design and the other is two piece requiring a round solid rubber lock cord.
Yeah they get confusing. A 2 piece gasket is much more flexable and easier to R&R so it is prefered in trucks where the glass is more often broken in the field. It was also prefered on the assembly line where a new opening, glass, and gasket are going together. Thus another reason for the 2 piece gaskets in first year of second generation A-body.
Be sure to clarify 2 door hardtop or 2 door / 4 door sedan. They aren't the same.

Thanks RedFish. So If I tell Steele I have a 1967 Dodge Dart 270 two door ... wait, what is the difference between a coupr and a hardtop? I have the kind where the window for the doors does not have a pillar between the rear seat windows. Which one is that?

Never mind. I should have looked in the manual first. Its a hardtop. Ok, so they do or do not make what is needed for a 67 Dart hardtop. I saw the e-bay auction, but do I need chrome trim to put it back to stock?

Except for 4 doors as well, their windshields are taller, just a little FYI.

The taller rubber gasket can't be used but the stainless can.
If the trim comes from a 4 door or 2 door post sedan, you will need to trim approx 2 inches off the A-pillar sticks.

You could do that.

I have a good used 67 type windshield gasket listed in parts for sale. It came from a 67 B'cuda.
It needs cleaning.

I know this is an old thread but can anybody tell me if the gaskets are the same for the 67 Barracudas as the 67 Darts? Year One has a listing for 67 Barracuda Notchback and they tell me it should fit. Before shelling out the dough I'd like to be 100% sure.

Thanks,
