Here's my problem. My 68 Dart has brand X springs on it. Will clamping the front of the springs help it? Is there something else I should do to it? I have no traction to speak of.

dont know if i can be of much help here...when you say brand x, you mean chevy or ford? because if you do, then that means the front segment is a different length possibly meaning your rearend is in a different position as well?? either way though, i would guess that traction bars would help here, but im not 100% sure...i know of chev guys who have had their leafs done like a super stock spring and they loved it, and that was on a chevy spring, not a mopar
