Hi,
I found a valiant that has an unusual Intake system that i don't recognise. I was wondering if anyone would be able to identify it...

If That is to hard to view, Here is a video of the setup...

Thanks,

Looks like a car from Austrailia right hand drive car. Jayson

Those are two barrel weber carbs. They are fussy and require almost constant tuning but haul *** when they are right. That is an Aussy Hemi 6. I have not seen a /6 with that set up but I am sure somebody has done it.

Thank you!,
Do you think it would work with a slant six, And do you know what type of intake manifolds those are?

The video on youtube states that it is a slant six...

That is a slant 6 not the "hemi" 6 in an austailian early valiant. The manifold is probably a Cain with 3 webber side draft carbs.

ok! thank you guys, Do you think this set up would be worth the constant carb tuning? or should i do a single holley 2 barrel with custom Intake system? I'm not really looking for specific preformance. Just something that can get me going. As it is my first project car

look for a super six set up,that should be a good start.

Thank you,
I researched the supersix, and found a intakemanifold that looks extremely similar to the supersix manifold

Here is the supersix setup picture i have found ----> http://www.slantsix.org/articles/supersix/ss-parts-laidout.jpg

Do you think that if i use that ram intake manifold, It would work well with
This holley Carb? ------> http://www.holley.com/0-7448.asp

This will be a street ride, with *for now* a stock gearing.
Do you feel that the 500cfm will be to much for it, and i should stay with the 350? Or will it be fine?
Thank you,
Corey

if your keeping everything stock for now,(gearing, stall speed, cam, compression)and the stock exhaust manifold than id run the factory super six manifold/linkage and the carter 2bbl they came with or a 350cfm holley 2bbl.also upgrading to electronic ignition would help if you dont already have it.500 cfm is probably too much for a stock slant.
