I run an FBO system right now and am very happy. Also ran an orange box back in the old days. Never had issues then either. Unless the box is actually failing, I doubt very much you'd feel any seat of the pants difference - especially if you're not racing. I agree with 63dartman that you should focus on dialing the distributor in.
