selling to canadians

I believe I have answered my own question and I want to share my new information with other readers.

There is a company called Montana Shipping Outlet and they have facilities in Sweet Grass, MT and Eureka, MT. Sweet Grass is appropriate for Albertans and Eureka is for the BC interior residents. Their business is the same as others noted in this thread; they make money by making it cheaper for Canadians to get goods across the border.

Their web site is found at: http://www.montanashipping.com/

After calling and speaking with them, here is my understanding of how they operate.
1) Prices per package, by weight, are: 1-20lbs @$4; 21-40 lbs @$6; sliding scale upwards thereafter; pallet shipments are at least $20
2) They deal with USPS, all major couriers, and national freight companies.
3) You need to have items shipped to their address, in your name.
4) You need to send them an e-mail to let them know what is coming or they will not accept it.
5) They send you an e-mail when things arrive and you go retrieve them.

You just have to throw in a shopping trip down to Great Falls for a long weekend to take advantage of the import allowances if you plan to ship big dollar amounts.

I think thier fees are a bit high, but thats because the place I deal with has never charged more than $3.
