71 340's dusters dint come with sway bars.. did they?
4spd or auto?
Nice car man.. very nice

Cerwin

Its an aftermarket one, nice and beefy too. I know in 70' it wa standard and 71 optional I think.

I drove it with no sway bar... sharp corners with speed I thought I would grind the door handles off

have you implimented one onto the rear?

on a scale of 1 - 10 how much of a difference did it make in your oppinion?
( addition of sway bar )

Cerwin

The front I think is an addco can't remember the Diameter. None in the rear yet but thinking about it on a 1-10 I rate it a 9.5 with even just the front.

The rear probably wont be as dramtic when I do it but going from none to jsut the front was like wow I can go around corners with soem speed now. Its no F1 but way better

Very awesome pics man!! :thumblef: Love the mountains in the background!

Little photo hint for ya... next time, turn the wheels away from the side you're shooting on... gives the car a little more "flare" if you will!

Looks great though!

Hope mine looks that good when/if i get it done!

Very nice 1971 340 Duster!

I do think the anti-sway bar on the front was standard on the 1971 340 Dusters. However, drums all around were standard in 1971 (Mopar downgraded the base standard equipment on the 1971 340 Duster), discs were optional extra-cost equipment. Sharktooth grill, and Carter ThermoQuad 4 barrel carb were standard equipment. Still a screaming bargain price at $2,703 or so for a base 1971 340 Duster!

In 1970, disc brakes and front anti-sway bar was standard equipment for a $2,549 car with a 10.5/1 compression 340 under the hood!

Thanks for the compliments makes me not so angry to look at it right now!

The paint is a 10footer the car needs a repaint badly but she hides it well for the tiem being. One section at a time Drivetrian is done from bumper to bumper interior will be finished this year etc etc. Means I get to keep driving it each summer.

Man ! That last picture is one heck of an incline! lol I have seen those mountains in person I think. Is that anywhere near Jasper? I have been there to the CN shop. There was a giant moose parked right next to the post office, cracked me up. I never realized how dang huge a moose is!

Love those pics. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the nice pictures! Beautiful country - a wee bit different than Long Island, NY!, and very pretty car as well. Never get tired of B5 blue to look at. You say it "may not run 100% yet" ... what's still need'n?

Fall in upper N.E. is very pretty too, albeit not as dramatic as your 9,000 ft snow covered mtns.

TA383 This is very close to Jasper, I live just outside the park. These are the same Mountains then.

Moose are huge! 1000lbs is a small moose. Seen pictures of a guy who hit one in a Firefly. Needless to say the driver died.

Dartly see my post in Engine Issues under What would you Do?

I think you better bring it to Calgary in the Spring and we will find the % missing.
Nice pics - lived in Edson for a yr a few yrs back - Gotta love the Rockies.

I've added rear sway bars to a 73 duster, and a 69 daryt I drove in my yonger days. The days when I din't care about tickets, or dying, etc...

In any case, out of 10, I'd say 8. VERY happy with the change in handling.

BAACK to the thread.

Cool car!!. Myf irst car was a 73 340 duster. Loved it.
