Her name is LUMP.
She's the 2nd score from the

CAR HUNT! FABOZENE8)

thread. Brought her home yesterday. Took her out for a test drive for the first time today and WOW!!! Hold on to your white hats boys! We got a live one!!!

Lump is a 1974 Dart Custom 4 Door 318 Auto/ (part air craft!)
That girl FLYS!!!! What a total sleeper. Went out to the highway and when turning on had to feather throttle to keep from smoking the tires:cheers:

Here's the rub.... (besides water hitting me from the tire inside the car!!) LOL!!
I need FABO's experienced help in trying to decide to restore or part and scrap.
Lump is so solid (other than damage in pics) and clean!! Drives great but sounds like it needs passenger tie rod end?? Rattles a little but flys like the wind grasshopper. LOL!!:-D

Bet the 4 doors suprised alot of the FABO members who know me. A complete suprise that a 4 door would wind up here needing attention!:love7:

I may be crazy (shouldn't have anything to do with it) but I really like Lump! ABB says, "crazy maybe but you love all the Darts not just that one.
She does have a point so I thought I would ask FABO for an unclouded, removed from the situation, opinions.

Please take a moment and voice your, restore it or Part it, opinions!
Thanks Again for being here!!!

So without further BS, Here's LUMP!

Pull the fender off, straighten it out, pull the crease out of the door, straighten the rocker, paint it then drive the heck out of it. Thats what I would do. That car looks way to clean to part out. Did a tire come apart or did it get hung up on something on the driver side?

more pics!8)

Check out the brochures in the glove box!!
I'm a printer by trade, it looks like it was printed yesterday!! Ink still fresh as the day it was layed on the sheet! LOL!! Printer humor!8)

noooo, dont scrap Lump! Its very clean.Heck, shampoo the seats, give the inside a good scrubbing, steam clean the motor and get it painted. The damage dosent look too bad.Just a litttle bit of pulling. It would be a shame to scrap out a clean car,4 door or not8) BTW,those are Duster hubcaps on it right now.

sure does look like a keeper, kinda up to you to decide......and those are duster "volcano" hub cap's on the old jewel....

No way Do NOT scrap or part out Lump that is one nice car and I don't like many door cars

I would fix it if it's not too much of a project. The car is pretty clean other than the damage.8) It's cool. Fix it, fix it, fix it!!!!

I agree, I'm tooling it down to a body shop who is owned by a friend. I'll see what he says too. Got 2 other aquaintences that own body shops too.

ABB rolled her eyes at me when I came back from the first drive and said I love LUMP!:love7:

I'm sure she's thinking "you can't keep them all" and she is right. I paid for Lump knowing it was parts then scrap.
First of all, I want to go on record, I'm not sure I COULD part out. It's just not good Karma:happy10:

Did purchase for parts, but I love this one too!!!:love7:

That looks like a heck of a nice car...4 door or not. And you say it runs great, fix it up. I've seen your quick work in your other threads and you could have LUMP ready in no time.

Give it a 2nd chance at a nice crusin' life......:happy10:

Original owners grandson drove it in 2006 and slid it into a tree for a double hit in the same spot!! Was garaged up till then when the guy I bought it off of purchased it. He's been driving it sense the day he drove it home with no door or fender even on it!

I really don't like the way it droops on that side, see full frontal shot (car ****?):-D LOL!!

Looks like it got hit pretty good. Going to need a trip to the frame straghtener!

don't scrap that, its a very solid car with some tlc it could be a very dependable daily driver or even good to resell with the work finished that it needs don't scrap it though!

Cool, Thanks for saying! I'll show ABB the thread when she comes home tomorow night and convince her to keep LUMP!

How dare you consider parting or scraping.

Sir, I am going to have to confiscate your Darts. I am from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Four Door Darts. (ASPCFDD)

Lumpy potatoes.:-D

Cool thought they were! At least I could sell those!!

I was thinking keeper when I popped the hood for a look......once I got home! LOL!!! He kept trying to show me the engine bay and I never even took my eyes off the damage lond enough to see the diamond in the ruff!!
But the post is pushed in and A pillar bent!

I'll drive the hot ----- to Double D's in the morning and ponder some more. somebody has to go! It's getting crouded around here and not much $ left! Unemployment already ran out. Supposed to get more but state dragging feet. Still no Job offers for peeps with gray hair yet.

Have a good one waggin!!

Thanks! Didn't even know what I had till I got home. Buying too unpleasant to even look at the car too long when I was there!8)

I knew this scrap a couple cars a week plan was going to get you into trouble! Bad enough if you let them follow you home, but once you name the strays, you're done! they're yours.

I'd say Lump has joined the family, better get pulling on those dents.

I know but there is that part of "if it's not too much of a project".
This is just barley off my normal repair charts. But not beyond me to weld some pulling tabs (looks like there were 5 or 6 pcs of blue painted metal in the trunk I could use) on the right places. Park next to a phone pole on my corner, and use a come along to pull it out my self. I don't see ripples on the roof, but where the doors meet at top they are pushed in about 1"!

Have already been thinking 6 sawzall blades, portable generator, and a huge clip from the yard. rocker/up to A pillar to top corner of windshield (would have to be removed,....any bets on weather I break this one, sense it is perfect there is a better than perfect chance it will get cracked!!) on back to the rear of the back door sill, and including 1/2 the floor. It would be the most optomistic restoration in my life. Fern was till this. Really pushing the talent envelope on this one I fear.:read2:

I'm almost afraid to. It's so nice I would want to keep it too! Got to thin the herd somewhere!

I'm so confused, think I'll sleep on it. Thought it was only a LUMP of parts on the truck comming home!!:-D

I really don't think I could ever scrap an Abody and really have reservations of parting too! I love them all way too much!:love7:
